The Salvation Army came to Acapulco and built a Children's Home in 1952. They were the first Children's Home here in Acapulco.
In 1960 Alfred & Ray Lawrence started helping the children of Acapulco Mexico. With their personal financial help, and with generous donations from "Friends of Acapulco" and other donors they bought an old hotel property in the Mozimba area of Acapulco and helped to move and support The Salvation Army Acapulco Children's Home. The home opened at it's current location in 1963 and that tradition of help has continued for more than 59 years.
We have now formalized that project and created Acapulco Angels a US 501(c)3 Nonprofit and a Mexican Associacin Civil (Mexico Nonprofit) to further our mission of "Helping the needy and disadvantaged children in and around Acapulco, Mexico"
