UPDATE ON THE EARTHQUAKE AT SALVATION ARMY ACAPULCO CHILDREN’S HOME
We hope that eveyone is well and the COVID-19 situations are improving where you are. It has been a difficult year and a half for many and we pray that you are safe and doing good.
The Children’s Home suffered some major damage from a 7.0 Earthquke on September 7, 2021. Major damage to the Main building which houses the Girl’s Dormitory, Office, Learning/meeting space, dining room and kitchen. We are currently evaluating the damage to the Salvation Army Acapulco Children’s Home and the main building has been evacuted and is unusable at the moment.
All of the children are safe and we are in the process of moving the Girl’s Dormitories, Kitchen, Dining room, Office and learning areas to other buildings on the property to continue services. We are reaching out to donors here in Acapulco and in the US for donation funds to help out with the relocation of buildings. We have Artichects and Engineers evaluating what needs to be done and will update as soon as we know more
The important thing is God has blessed us keeping all the children and staff safe at the home.
If you can please Donate Now to help us get the rooms relocated and continue services.
